Island Breeze Pontoon Rentals

About 10-12 minutes from our Clearwater dock

Sand Key Boat Rentals

Living on Sand Key, you already know the best part of the day happens on the water — you just need a bigger boat and somewhere to point it. That's where we come in. Island Breeze Pontoon Rentals launches from the Seminole Street boat ramp at 200 Seminole St in Clearwater, on the mainland right at the eastern foot of the Memorial Causeway. From Sand Key it's a short, familiar hop: north up Gulf Boulevard, across the Sand Key Bridge onto Clearwater Beach, then over the Causeway to our dock — roughly 10 to 12 minutes door to dock. The payoff is that once you're aboard, you're pointed straight back down toward the Clearwater Harbor waters you look out at every day, only now you're the one anchored on the sandbar instead of watching from the balcony.

Family aboard an Island Breeze pontoon at a Clearwater Beach sandbar

Sand Key sits just south of Clearwater Beach, a slim barrier island where Sand Key Park's wide, uncrowded beach meets the pass at the north end. That geography is exactly why a Sand Key boat rental with us makes so much sense: the near-in Clearwater Harbor sandbars you can practically see from the park are a quick idle away from our dock. Within minutes of casting off from Seminole Street you can be nosed up on a shallow sand flat, cooler open, stereo playing, feet in warm ankle-deep water. No long slog offshore, no burning half your rental just getting somewhere — the good stuff starts almost immediately.

We keep it simple with two late-model boats. The Berkshire pontoon seats 9 and the Viaggio tritoon seats 12, and both come with a bimini top for shade, a Bluetooth stereo, a cooler, and life jackets for everyone aboard. Rentals run $399 for 4 hours, $499 for 6 hours, and $599 for 8 hours, plus tax and fuel. You can self-drive if the captain of the day is 25 or older with a little boating experience (and a Florida Boating Safety ID Card if you were born on or after January 1, 1988), or you can add one of our licensed captains and just enjoy the ride — a nice option if you'd rather not think about the harbor's channels and no-wake zones on a busy weekend.

Because those Clearwater Harbor waters are so protected and so full of life, wild bottlenose dolphins turn up almost every single day — often right in the boat lanes between the beaches, arcing alongside the pontoon like they're showing you around. From the same launch you can also make a real day of it: run north to Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island, anchor off Three Rooker Bar or One Tree Island, or point south toward John's Pass. On an 8-hour rental you've got the range to chase whichever direction the wind and the dolphins are working that afternoon.

The honest pitch is this: we're not on Sand Key, and we don't keep boats there — our only dock is the mainland ramp at 200 Seminole St in Clearwater. But for you that's a feature, not a hassle. That central Causeway-foot location is genuinely one of the easiest launches on this stretch of coast to reach from the beaches, and it puts you closer to the barrier-island sandbars than almost anywhere else you'd put in. Give us a call at 727-744-6999 — we're open daily 8am to 8pm — and we'll get your Sand Key day on the calendar.
